The Dolphins are trying to get where Houston is currently; at the top of their respective division. The Texans have won the AFC South two-straight seasons, while Miami is looking to challenge New England for supremacy in the AFC East.
Miami brought in some new pieces in the offseason, like big-play receiver Mike Wallace. Despite the 27-3 win last week, Wallace was held without a reception. What was encouraging though was rookie running back Mike Gillislee out of Florida. He had 12 carries for 37 yards last week against Jacksonville and could play a pivotal role in the rushing attack for the Dolphins this season.
Expect Gillislee to get plenty of more carries against Houston and try to get past the Texans’ defensive line, led by sack-happy end J.J. Watt. A good ground attack will limit the aggressiveness Watt can come with.
Speaking of Watt, it was reported this week that he wants to get in on some offensive action for Houston as well. Whether or not that actually happens remains to be seen. There was talk of a ‘Wisconsin package’ which would be a three tight-end set in goal-line situations. Remember the fridge for the Bears? Houston could be onto something.
