Even putting aside the fact that this will be a big game simply because Manning will be returning, it’s a big game because of the two teams involved. Both Indianapolis and Denver are looking like contenders for the Super Bowl, in spite of the loss by the Colts on Monday Night Football. Indianapolis already has wins over two of the best teams in the NFC in Seattle and San Francisco.
On the other side of the field we already know that Denver is a perfect 6-0. The team is the highest scoring offense in the NFL, scoring over 40 points in four of their six games, and never scoring less than 35 points in any matchup yet.
But the biggest story could be on the defensive side. After sitting out the first six games of the season on a suspension, Von Miller will return to the Denver defense. Miller is the best player on the Broncos defensive unit, and will provide a big boost to make this team even better than it already is.
Looking ahead at this matchup, there will be a lot of pressure on Luck to keep up with Manning and the high-powered Denver offense. He will need to rely on his defense to get a few big stops during the game and try to stall out the Broncos. That is something that no other team has been able to figure out up to this point.
