Browns RB Trent Richardson To Miss Thursday Night Exhibition Game vs. Rams

Cleveland Browns RB Trent RichardsonNews came down Wednesday that RB Trent Richardson would indeed miss the Browns exhibition season opener versus the St. Louis Rams on Thursday night.

It was unknown whether the 2nd year back would play after returning to practice on Monday – Richardson had missed the previous two practice sessions due to a lower leg injury (bruised shin).

Though this is not the news that fantasy owners and fans in Cleveland want to hear, Browns head coach Mark Chudzinski said the team was going to hold Richardson out simply because it was the preseason.

Should this have been a regular season game, Browns fans could bet the farm that #33 would suit up.

Really, there is no need to prove what he is capable of doing… 950 rushing yards on 267 carries (3.2 yards per rush) + 11 touchdowns. For a rookie campaign on a rebuilding team, those are pretty solid numbers but you can’t forget his production in the passing game which was good for another 367 yards from scrimmage (51 receptions, 1 TD).
