The Bengals should feel pretty comfortable about the state of their team heading into the 2013 regular season, especially off of the last performance by the offense against the Tennessee Titans. Quarterback Andy Dalton has led the Bengals to playoff berths in each of his first two seasons, and entering his third year, the expectations haven’t changed.
With a 9 of 14 performance for 115 yards and a touchdown in the first half against Tennessee, that should build some confidence heading into the third preseason game this season, against Dallas. Dalton and the first string offense should be on the field for the entire first half and likely on into the third quarter.
The same can be said for the Dallas starters this week. It was a 12-7 loss to Arizona last week, but the defense looked really solid.
The Cowboys defense will get a tough challenge against Dalton and the Bengals this week. Though at this point it’s not clear whether or not A.J. Green will be on the field for Cincinnati. If he is it will certainly challenge that Cowboys secondary.
Tony Romo should see plenty of playing time, coming off of a decent performance against Arizona with a 7 for 10 142-yard stat line.
