Both the Texans and the Saints have division title aspirations. Houston captured the AFC South last season, while it was a whirlwind type year for New Orleans with their head coach suspended. But with things settling back to normal for the Saints in the offseason, they are expected to challenge Atlanta for the division championship.
New Orleans and Houston won in Week 2 of the preseason. The Texans took down Miami 24-17, while the Saints defeated Oakland 28-20.
The good news for fans interested in this game is that the starters will see significant time. That means a whole lot of Drew Brees, and J.J. Watt.
While it’s still considered preseason and the result of this game not to put too much stock into, this does have the making of a matchup for two playoff teams.
The Saints offensive line will have their hands full with Watt, while on defense New Orleans will see exactly how much they’ve improved with a potent offensive attack both in the run game and through the air.
Arian Foster likely won’t play, which means his first appearance will probably be in Week 1 of the regular season in a couple of weeks.
