Saints quarterback Drew Brees had himself quite a Monday Night Football game this week against the previously unbeaten Miami Dolphins. New Orleans improved to 4-0 on the season and look much better on defense than they did all of last season.
New Orleans will be tested on the road against a good Bears team. Chicago suffered their first loss of the season this past Sunday, dropping to the Detroit Lions 40-32. Despite the loss, the Bears continue to look impressive and could be a real threat to contend in the NFC.
Other than Denver, the Saints might have looked the best this season in their complete body of work. Certainly Seattle ranks up there with some performances, but a shaky start against Carolina wasn’t the best game.
Brees threw four touchdown passes to three different receivers on Monday Night. The Bears defense might be one of the better ones in the league, but it will be a tall task to guard the New Orleans receivers if Brees gets time to throw.
The key for Chicago will be to pressure Brees. Miami didn’t get to him all night, and the result was another 300-yard four-touchdown performance in a convincing win.
New Orleans will be challenged defensively as well though, with running back Matt Forte having a great start to the season.
