New England comes in off of a big win on the road over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football. The Patriots are now 4-0 on the season and have been able to win in spite of dealing with some tough injuries.
Tight end Rob gronkowski remains on the forefront of the injury news for New England, and his return this week remains questionable. It would be a big addition that the Patriots could use, though quarterback Tom Brady has been able to successfully distribute the ball around the field without him.
As for the Bengals, it was a tough 17-6 loss to the Cleveland Browns. The Bengals were favored in that game, and fall to 2-2 on the season. Fortunately for Cincinnati, there isn’t a team running away with the AFC North division early, and they still are picked to win it.
Though offensively quarterback Andy Dalton will need to improve. Dalton threw for just 206 yards, no touchdowns, and an interception. Receiver A.J. Green was held to just 51 yards receiving despite catching seven passes. He was targeted 15 times, which means the Browns defense did a good job managing him.
You can bet that the Patriots will try to limit the touches that Green is able to get. But Green isn’t the only offensive threat Cincinnati has. Rookie running back Giovani Bernard can break some plays and could be important in this battle. Bernard only got 10 carries against Cleveland which was a bit perplexing. Look for him to get more involved in this one.
