Miami was brought back down to earth on Monday Night Football, as they were dominated by Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints 38-17. It was was the first defeat for the Dolphins after a nice 3-0 start. Now after the first signs of adversity that this 2013 team faces, it will be interesting to see how they respond.
In particular with quarterback Ryan Tannehill, his response will be watched because he did not have a good game on Monday Night. The second-year quarterback look uncomfortable in the pocket, and Baltimore can definitely take advantage of that by getting pressure on him.
The Ravens had a bad loss to the Buffalo Bills this past weekend, which snapped back-to-back wins.
The biggest stat of the game was the five interceptions that quarterback Joe Flacco threw to the Bills defense. That is something that simply cannot happen if the Ravens want to win. Even in spite of all those turnovers though Baltimore still had a shot to win the game in the end.
The five picks were unusual for Flacco, and that trend of turning the ball over isn’t expected to continue. They will have to do a better job at protecting the ball though.
For Miami the important thing is to let the loss on Monday night go, as they already have a short week to prepare.
