The Buckeyes were able to hold off a resilient Wisconsin team last week at home in the Horseshoe, leaving with a 31-24 victory to preserve their undefeated record keeping Big Ten and national championship hopes alive.
It was the return of quarterback Braxton Miller, though they didn’t suffer one bit on offense in his absence behind back up Kenny Guiton, who set passing records on the field. But Miller looked like the Heisman trophy hopeful that many thought he would be coming into this season for the Buckeyes. Miller threw for all four of Ohio State’s four touchdowns in the game, as the Buckeyes got up 24-14 at halftime. They actually got up 31-14 by the third quarter, and stayed off the comeback attempt from the Badgers.
This Saturday though it will be a much different environment. Northwestern is the home team, and with that crowd going crazy for Game Day being on hand, the atmosphere should be nothing short of electric.
The Wildcats have looked solid through four games this season, with their closest margin of victory a 14-point win over Maine last week, and the same margin over Cal in Week 1. Northwestern has scored at least 35 points in every game this season, so Ohio State’s defense will have to be ready to play hard.
