A matchup in the SEC on Saturday puts a pair of top-25 teams with big aspirations. We’re talking about a SEC championship and national championship. But for one, that could come to an end on Saturday, with the No.17 Florida Gators visiting the No.10 LSU Tigers. Kickoff is set for 3:30 pm ET on CBS.

For either team, a second loss would mean that the national championship shot is out of the question. But for Florida, a loss could still mean a chance at the SEC East title and a trip to Atlanta. While LSU has a conference loss already to Georgia, the Gators have just one loss out-of-conference to Miami. Florida remains unbeaten in the SEC, and a win on the road over the Tigers would be huge.
There might not be a tougher environment in all of college football then Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge though. That crowd will be rocking Saturday afternoon.
The big question will be how quarterback Tyler Murphy will handle the pressure. The former backup to Jeff Driskel is in heading into the biggest game of his life, and will need his teammates to help.
That will start with one of the nation’s top defenses, and perhaps the best in the SEC. Containing LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger and running back Jeremy Hill will be very important. The Tigers have much more firepower on offense than the Gators, as Florida definitely doesn’t want to become involved in a shootout.
The first quarter of this game will be very important for Florida to try and get the crowd to settle down. An early score or lead will go a long way in this one.
