The Chiefs pushed their record to 6-0 this past Sunday with a dominating performance in a 24-7 win over the Oakland Raiders. This Kansas City defense continues to excel, having not given up more than 17 points in any game this season. And with the offense continuing to play well, the Chiefs are looking like a very tough team to beat.
The opposite can be said for Houston right now, as things are in turmoil for the Texans following a string of four disappointing defeats. Even the relationship with their fans right now is touch-and-go, after their were decisive cheers this past week after Matt Schaub went down with an injury.
Schaub has definitely been struggling, throwing a pick-six in three-straight games. His back up T.J. Yates came in and then he threw a pick-six. That set a new NFL record for the most consecutive games of throwing an interception for a touchdown.
Outside of the 23-20 overtime loss in Week 4, Houston has been blown out in each of their other three losses this season. That hasn’t inspired much confidence in a team that was picked to win the AFC South and contend for a Super Bowl.
At 2-4, you have to think that this might be a must-win scenario for the Texans if they are going to turn this thing around and get going in the right direction. Knocking off an undefeated Kansas City team would be a great start. They’ve got the capability on offense to score and make things tough for Kansas City, it’s simply a matter of not making big mistakes. And so far this year the Chiefs defense has had a knack for making big plays.
