The Seahawks are off to their best start in franchise history, beginning the season 6-1 through their first seven games. And with St. Louis quarterback Sam Bradford going down, Seattle will be big favorites in this one even with it being on the road.
Seattle is coming off of a win on Thursday night over Arizona, which gives them an extra few days to prepare for this one. Though those preparations likely took a 180 on defense with the news that Bradford is out for the season.
The Seahawks continue to look good on both sides of the ball, though it’s on defense where they are excelling even more. The team is 2nd against the pass and 5th against the run. In other words, teams aren’t moving the ball on them. That in turn is giving Wilson and the offense plenty of opportunities to do some damage, and they have taken advantage of those opportunities, primarily in the run game.
Expect to see a healthy dose of Marshawn Lynch this week. St. Louis ranks 30th in the NFL against the run, giving up 126 yards per game. This just looks like a bad matchup, putting one of the best run offenses against one of the worst run defenses in the league.
As for the quarterback situation for the Rams, they even reached out to Brett Favre to see if he wanted to come take a snap for the first time since 2010. Favre declined, but did appreciate the offer. Back up quarterback Kellen Clemens will get the start in Week 8, but there is definitely a chance that St. Louis reaches out to sign another quarterback soon.
