USC Trojans Visit UCLA Bruins In Regular Season Finale

The USC Trojans have been playing much better football since firing head coach Lane Kiffin. Interim coach Ed Orgeron is making a case for securing the spot permanently, but a decision on that won’t come until after the season. This Saturday, it’s the rivalry in Los Angeles as the Trojans will take on the UCLA Bruins. There isn’t a division championship on the line however with Arizona State already securing that; this one is about pride.

USC Trojans / UCLA Bruins

USC is on a five-game win streak, that includes a victory of then-No.4 Stanford. It’s the only ranked opponent that the Trojans have faced this season up until UCLA this Saturday night at 8 pm ET on ABC.

The Bruins saw their Pac 12 South hopes dashed with a 38-33 loss to Arizona State last week. Had they won, they would have been able to win the division with a victory over USC. But instead, this game is now about securing a solid bowl berth.

UCLA’s schedule has been much tougher than USC’s up to this point. The Bruins played both Oregon and Stanford from the North, and also had an out-of-conference matchup with Nebraska earlier in the season. It was the back-to-back games against the Cardinal and Ducks that really did this team in and put them into a corner.

It will be interesting to see how UCLA responds after losing out on the Pac 12 South title. Though make no mistake, this rivalry is still very heated between the two programs.

This one should be a good matchup between two teams that have the potential to put some big points on the board.
