The Seahawks and the Packers are two favorites to represent the NFC in Super Bowl XLVIII this season. Two of the top quarterbacks in the league will be on the field. For Green Bay, it’s Aaron Rodgers. For Seattle, it’s Russell Wilson.
These two quarterbacks get things done quite differently. Rodgers is the prototype pocket passer, whereas Wilson is able to make plays with his feet. But Wilson doesn’t often use his feet to bust out a 10-yard run, he makes plays to get outside of the pocket, always keeping his eyes down field. He is one of the coolest quarterbacks under intense pressure, which makes him a threat to make a completion even under major duress.
We should get a chance to see Wilson run around a bit in this Week 3 preseason game, especially with guys like Clay Matthews trying to run him down.
And of course for Green Bay, Rodgers will have his work cut out for him against the Seahawks tough secondary, though with an arm like the one he has it sure makes things tough on a defense as well.
This matchup could very well be a prelude to a future playoff game down the road in early January, or perhaps even an NFC Championship game with the Super Bowl on the line.
