The Redskins got the first full dose of the Chip Kelly up-tempo offense when they faced the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night, and were not prepared for it. They were down 26-7 at the half, and 33-7 before they mounted a furious comeback.

Quarterback Robert Griffin III was rusty in the first half, which was expected as he had not played in the preseason. By the second half though he developed a much better rhythm with his receivers and seems to be more comfortable with the offense.

Whether or not this translates over to week 2 remains to be seen. Lambeau Field is not an easy place to play, and with the Packers losing in Week 1 as well, they will be wanting this win bad. While falling to 0-2 isn’t a death sentence in the NFL, it’s certainly not the way that either of these two playoff teams from a season ago will want to begin.

Green Bay simply had a tough road game in Week 1, and nearly beat San Francisco. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers continues to show why he might be the best in the NFL. He will be comfortable at home this week where they will be favored to win the game.

The Packers defense should be prepared for that read option offense of Washington’s, since they just saw it with Colin Kaepernick and San Francisco.
