It wasn’t a great week for either Pittsburgh or Cincinnati to open up their regular seasons. The Bengals dropped on the road to Chicago, while the Steelers lost at home to Tennessee.

Of the two performances, Pittsburgh’s is far more concerning. The Steelers offense looked down right bad, scoring a touchdown in the fourth quarter to bring the game to a respectable 16-9 final. Prior to that, Pittsburgh’s point total was a whopping two point thanks to a safety.

The Bengals had control of their road matchup with the Bears, but couldn’t produce anything in the fourth quarter and committed a few key turnovers. One of the bright spots though was receiver A.J. Green, who had 160 receiving yard on the day to go along with two touchdowns.

Green is definitely quarterback Andy Dalton’s favorite target, and will be his go-to guy against the Pittsburgh defense on Monday night.

The real interesting storyline will be the Steelers offense though, and whether quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will be able to get things rolling along. It’s a tough matchup against a good Cincinnati defense. Perhaps there is a reason that Pittsburgh is a touchdown underdog in this one.
