It will be a homecoming of sorts for new Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who spent more than a decade coaching Philadelphia, leading them to NFC championships and a Super Bowl berth during his time there.

But Reid now comes in wearing bright red as the new leader of a Kansas City team that has started the season by equaling its win total from last year already through two weeks sitting at 2-0. The latest win was a 17-16 win over the Dallas Cowboys at home.

The Eagles lost in Chip Kelly’s home opener in Philadelphia 33-30 to the San Diego Chargers despite quarterback Michael Vick throwing for more than 400 yards on the day. That Philadelphia defense has some holes that need to be filled.

There is no doubt that emotions will be high for Reid in this one, and you have to think that the Chiefs players really want to get this one done for him and start the season out 3-0. Quarterback Alex Smith has played well so far, and will need to have a good game to keep up with the offense that the Eagles will more than likely put on the board.

For Kansas City on defense, it’s about controlling the big plays and not getting beat deep. And let’s not forget about the up-tempo that they will be under all game. Reid will have to prepare his players for the fast pace.
