With Louisville playing an inferior schedule this season in the American Athletic Conference, the eighth-ranked Cardinals get few opportunities to have the national stage to themselves, and when they do, need to seize the moment and the chance at proving that they belong in the national championship conversation.

So far, Louisville has done what they’ve needed to do, with big wins in each of their first five games on the schedule.

The next two games for the Cardinals are arguably their toughest, both in prime time with Rutgers first, and then UCF next Friday. But the good news is that both of these games will be at home.

After losing a heart-breaker in Week 1 in overtime by a single point to Fresno State, the Scarlet Knights have won four-straight games. This includes a win of SEC member Arkansas, and a double-overtime victory over SMU this past Saturday.

Rutgers comes in with plenty of momentum, and they will need that to spring the upset on the road over a top-10 team with a Heisman Trophy candidate at quarterback.

The Scarlet Knights can certainly score, averaging 40 points per game this season, which ranks 23rd in FBS.
