Thankfully for the Washington Redskins sake they are just two games out of the NFC East Division lead, despite having just one win to their credit so far this season. On Sunday in Week 7, the Redskins get a tough matchup at home against the Chicago Bears who are tied atop the NFC North lead.

Chicago has had an extra couple of days to prepare for this matchup, as they last took the field on Thursday night where they defeated the New York Giants. That kept the Giants winless on the season, and Washington ahead of them in the NFC East. The Bears might be playing teams in back-to-back weeks with a combined one win, but they know that this Redskins team has the potential to be dangerous.
Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III still seems to be finding his way in his second year in the NFL. The knee injury he suffered is probably playing a role in that. Griffin completed 19 of 39 passes in a loss against Dallas last week for no touchdowns and an interception. If he puts up those numbers again this week, it will be yet another loss for the Redskins.
That’s only because the Washington defense is not good. They rank 24th against the pass and 27th against the run this season. In other words, teams have had their way with them. The Redskins have given up at least 27 points in all but one of their games, three of which they’ve allowed teams to go for 31 points or more.
Witch Chicago playing well on both sides of the ball, it’s hard to think that they will allow the Redskins many scoring opportunities in this one. That means it will have to come down to making plays in other ways for Washington. Turnovers and special teams will be big in this one.
